Net Control

Greetings,

I want to take a moment to encourage all folks to avail themselves of the training opportunity being a volunteer net control operator provides. It gets easier the more you do it, and a full script is provided for your use.

If you have not tried it, please do. If you would feel more comfortable with another, more experienced operator at your elbow while you are on the radio, that can be arranged.

This is a very good opportunity for expanding your training and comfort on the radio. In order to assure this kind of valuable training is more widely distributed among the ACS members, the ACS Staff may start assigning net responsibilities in the near future, so getting some practice in advance may make you more comfortable after an assignment.

Listen to how it is done at the regular net times (Tuesdays, 7 and 7:10 p.m), then sign up to do one or both of the nets for practice.

You can find net control instructions, the preamble and the rosters by clicking HERE. If you are having trouble accessing those documents, I can send you any of them by e-mail, just let me know.

Contact me or Ginny Goblirsch – W7OTR and we will get you on the schedule.

Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions.

73,

Doug
